Help & Manual – Easy to Use and Powerful Authoring Tool
When EC Software started out way back in 1993, it was a small one-man shop for point-of-sale software. But in 1997 the EC Software switched focus onto documentation software and development tools. Now the company is a documentation tools specialist and it is all thanks to one application – Help & Manual.
What is the Help & Manual application and how can it prove to be useful? Well, Help & Manual is an authoring tool, a single-source help authoring and content management system for both single and multi-author editing.
This application is the one and only thing you need if you are looking for a tool to write help, documentation and knowledge bases.
As a little side note, when Help & Manual version 1.0 was rolled out back in 1997, it was the first help authoring tool that could create online help and print documentation from one source, in one easy step.
Getting back to the topic at hand, it must be said that using Help & Manual is a fairly straightforward process. The application is just as easy to use as any word processor.
The user interface is intuitive and user friendly, meaning that even the less experienced user should not have a problem with Help & Manual. To my mind, not having to go through a steep learning curve is always a nice thing.
